    There is a plethora of possible settings from which you can choose to tell Pathagoras which Content Controls to create and how they should behave. To navigate to the Content Controls settings screen, click Pathagoras Settings (top half) | All Settings | Instant Database | Content Controls’.

On that screen, check ‘Search and Replace in Content Controls’ and make such other changes and selections as you desire. Play around with them to refine your selections.

 

Tips:

 Search and Replace in Content Controls: This is the master 'on/off switch'. All others are ineffective without it.

 

 Multiple-choice variables: Pathagoras is better and more logical than Content Controls in its ability to select a value of a variable from a choice made from a related variable. Plus, Pathagoras allows multiple selections among multiple choice variables, and a variety of 'connectors'. Content Controls do not. Therefrore, we recommend not converting multiple choice variables. That is, leave this checkbox empty. And if you are using '!groupnames! to connect related multiiple-choice lists, we will not convert them at all. See Miscellaneous for detailed explanation as to why.

 

 Date variables: Similarly, Pathagoras has more date display power and options than Content Controls allow. If you want to display dates, or parts of dates, in a variety of different manners (July 4, 1776 in one spot, the 4th day of July, 1776 in another spot, and 7/4/1776 in yet another spot, using the input of a single date, consider 'Format as Text' option. A Content Control is still created, but it is text in nature. You will still have a calendar to choose from, but it will be Pathagoras' calendar. And all date arguments are fully available (unlike the date content controls that MS provides.)

 

 Auto-Convert to Content Controls: You likely will appreciate the power and speed of Pathagoras' implementation of Content Controls that you wish to convert at every possibility

 

         Bracketed Controls: Perhaps you have created Content Controls outside of your Pathagoras universe.If you want to restrict an Instant Database search to just those Controls that mimic variables (i.e,. are enclosed within square brackets), also check the box immediately below the 'Search and Replace' checkbox.
