In version 2025.1, Pathagoras has taken advantage of Word Translate (which appears to be connected to Google® Translate) to provide better and more complete translation capabilities.

Pathagoras has always been able to 'extend'  numbers such as '345000' to "Three Hundred Forty-Five Thousand Dollars ($345,000)". See IDB Spell Out function and Currency Function)  But this routine was limited to extensions in English. Beginning in version 2025.1, it is available in Spanish, French and German.

To initiialize these translation options, display the IDB Settings Screen and select the 'Display Alternative Language' checkbox.

That will cause three language buttons to appear the next (and all future times) you display the Instant Database Screen:

If you also want the system to default to a specific language, check the appropriate box in the IDB Settings screen (first image above).

Extended numbers: Before you click 'Next', make sure the box reflecting the language you want is checked. (Hovering over each box will tell you what language is in play. When you click Next, Pathagoras will analyze the number you have provided, extend it as you have requested in the document and insert the properly translated result in place of the variable. (If a language box is checked, but you do not want that selection, simply check another languare, or check the selected box to clear.)

Dates: Whenever the variable contains the word "Date" in any form, a small green 'activate calendar' button will display between the variable and the 'Replace with' columns. Click this link for more on that. When you click that green button, a calendar will display from which you can select a date. If you not have made a language selection, the return will be in English. But if you have checked one of the language buttons at the bottom of the IDB screen, the return in the 'Replace with' column will be in the selected language.

This is translation feature is a revamp of a feature that did not work so well in 2020, so few people used it. Now it works consistently well.

Need other languages. Just ask and I can make it happen.
