Add Variables: As stated many times above, you can add your own variables, or modify any variable in an existing document. All variables are plain text words between square brackets.

To add a variable to a source document, call up the document to the editing screen;
place the cursor where you want the new variable to go and type a new variable using plain text. Make sure to enclose the variable term in [square brackets]. OR
locate an existing variable and edit it as you wish.

Add Optional Text: An 'Optional Text Block' is ‘take it or leave it’ text which resides in the source text. The decision whether to keep or discard the Optional Text made at document assembly time immediately after the Next button is pressed on the Clause Selection Screen.

To add optional text to the source document, recall it to the screen and simply enclose the text you wish to make optional between ‘curly brackets’ (also called braces). E.g.,  “{This is optional text. It can be anything and of any length.}”

Add Smart Notes:  You can add a Smart Note to each document. This is text that you can create which can explain usage, authorities, anything. A document with a ‘Smart Note’ attached will appear on the Clause Selection screen with an asterisk “*” next to the name.

To add a Smart Note, display the document on the editing screen.
Click Pathagoras|Editing Tools.
Click the Add Smart Note button and follow the prompts.
