New since Pathagoras 2025

TEXT SCRAMBLING in TRIAL VERSION OUTPUT! In evaluation mode, Help+Manual will scramble individual characters in random words in your published output files. This is a limitation of the free trial version. This help system was created with an evaluation copy of Help+Manual.

Dramatic resizing of Instant Database Screen

Some users have requested (some vociferously so) that the individual text boxes of the Instant Database screen be made larger and easier to read. In the past, we allowed the user to make subtle changes to the font but that turned out to be unsatisfactory. So we went all in. The really dramatic (and satisfactory, according to our beta testing group) change is available in v. 2025.1.. Check out this new 'resizing button'

Like checkboxes?

Pathagoras can now convert a series of words into check-boxes. These words doubling as !groupnames! instantly relating to <<*Optional*!groupname! . . . >> blocks. Once the check-boxes are created, the checkbox text can be modified to text that is more user friendly.

This is very much in the beta phase, but if you prefer working with 'Yes-No/True-False/Checked-Unchecked'' check-boxes as opposed to the <<*AskOptional*. . .>> interviews, let me know.

DropDown Lists

Those who use DropDown Lists know that the receiving document (the one into which you click-in a DropDown List item) controls the formatting of the called in document/clause. And we trust you also know that, as an exception, if you click a DropDown List item when the cursor is at position 1/1 and there is no other text in the document, an exact duplicate of the called document will be called (i.e., the receiving document’s formatting does not control). The same now pertains to calls for DropDown List items that are typed onto to the editing screen and called by a press of <Alt-G>.

Added Defaults

A '#' immediately in front of a designated multiple choice variable in the Instant Database system causes that choice to be initially selected when the IDB screen is displayed. (E.g., [apples/#bananas/cherries].  Now the same default designator can be used with <<*AskOptions* . . .  interviews. And you can even select multiple items. This new feature can dramatically shorten the 'interview time' when certain items are almost always chosen.
