Pathagoras provides two distinct ways to add ('shelve') a book to the active library.
•If a bookshelf is empty when you are viewing the Libraries & Books screen, you can Quick Set the Book. Quick Set automates the process of placing an item onto an empty shelf.
•If you wish to replace an existing Book with another, or re-point an existing Book to a new location (perhaps you moved the files to a server or to a cloud location), right-click on the Book you wish to replace or re-point. This page discusses re-pointing in more detail.
•If you wish to rearrange the Books in a specific Library, do so via the Settings screen.
The path to a book must start with a drive letter. E.g., "D:\" or "O"\" or the like. If your path starts with "http:\\", Pathagoras will not recognize it. Not to worry. You can still call on your your cloud files. It's just that the parent cloud folder has to be identified to your computer as a lettered path. If you have not yet assigned your OneDrive, Sharepoint or Dropbox storage to a drive letter, it is easy to do so. In your file explorer, right-click on "This PC" and then select "Map Network Drive" from the right-click menu. Choose a drive letter and then enter the URL of the target Sharepoint, OneDrive, etc. folder. If prompted, check 'Reconnect as sign-in' and provide any credentials that are needed. If your cloud folder is already mapped to your computer, it is possible, indeed likely, that a drive letter is associated with the folder. Just right click on the folder and select 'Properties". If the path to the folder includes a drive letter, probablly C:\" you have what you need, but as you are pointing to a folder to assign a book, you must follow that path to get to your target folder. But it is just this one time event. After that, your folder is 'shelved." Bottom line: as you are navigating to the location of a cloud folder to shelve your book, use the assigned letter under "This PC' and not the 'Network' link. |
