How can I set up Pathagoras so that a choice I make at the top of a document it carry forward in other parts of my document.

Just add a group name to the head of each options or optional block of text. A group name is any word or words you want to identify the group, surrounded by exclamation marks.

| A. {!children!I have [number] children all under the age of 18 years and their names are [Names of Children.]}
. . . .
M. {!children!I appoint [Guardian] as the Guardian of any child still under the age of 18 years at the time of my death.} |
