Ooops. I accidentally saved my letter after running the Instant Database against the original. Can I reverse this?

First, we slap your hand for violating one of the core principles of Pathagoras: 'Never work on an orginal document unless your sole intent is to edit the original content.'  If you are creating a new document for a client or customer, use DropDown Lists, Document Assembly or Alt-G to bring a document to the screen. That way you will never even encounter the original document.

With the punishment now imposed,  we have good news. What you have done may not be fatal.

    We offer two the solutions:

  1. If you have not yet closed the document, press Ctrl-Z repeatedly until you get back to the original state. (Ctrl-Z is the same as hitting the undo).
  2. If you have closed the document, reopen it. Recall the personal data record from the upper right corner of the IDB screen. Click the red Power Tools button (bottom right quadrant) and then click the Reverse button in the new section that appears. This will switch the two columns.  Then click the Next button. Most (if not all) of your previous variables will be restored. Edit as needed. (It may not be a perfect reversal but it is much preferable to starting from scratch.)
