Create a 'Package' of Forms

Definition:  A 'package' of forms is simply a group of documents selected from Pathagoras' Clause Selection Screen that, upon request will be copied intact and with the same name into another folder selected by the user.

Use: Pathagoras goes out of its way to make sure that you do not use (and then potentially overwrite) the master form when assembling documents. Therefore, it will always generate a new form formatted identically that of the original. That form will typically be named 'Document1' or 'Document2' etc., indicating that you are working on a copy. (Except for the new name, the copy is indistinguishable from the original.)

   This process can be a 'lifesaver' when a situation arises where you might otherwise have accidentally overwritten an original (in a rush, forgetful, demanding boss --gasp-- assigning too many simultaneous projects).

   However, many users have advised that this method of document assembly isn't always the most productive in their offices. They advise:

that they frequently prepare 'packages' of documents based on the same set of documents;
that they store documents in folders specially created for each individual client or customer;
that they don't want to have to rename 'Document1', 'Document2', etc. back to the original names upon a save of the document. They simply want to keep the original name of the document 'intact.'

  If the above describes the situation in your office, Pathagoras 'package' creator may be ideal.

Step by step instructions: Requesting Pathagoras to prepare a package of forms is quite simple.

1.In normal 'document assembly' style, click the Document Assembly button and then select the Library and Book from which the package documents will come.
2.Make the appropriate selections from the documents displayed at the left, moving them to the right.

3.Click 'Additional Assembly Options' . . . .

Clcik to enlarge.

4.. . . and then check the "Save as 'Clause Package'" box. Click the Next>> button.
5.Pathagoras will ask you to navigate to and select the folder into which the package is to be copied. Click the OK button in the navigation dialog to lock in your selection.

   Once you have locked in the folder, Pathagoras will (1) copy identical copies of the selected documents into the designated folder and (2) open each member of the package into a separate screen for editing.
