    I have continued to refine the Name/Subject Editor that I released for beta trials earlier this month. Thanks to all who assisted and provided invaluable feedback. Since I last wrote, I have added the following features to the Editor functions:

• Automatically insert prefix/suffix names. (You select the prefix, the beginning suffix and the interval between term names. Pathagoras will do the rest, automatically assigning proper 'prefix/suffix' style names for your documents. Even after the names are assigned, you still have an opportunity to modify the names in the Editor table before you commit to the actual document name changes.)
• Automatic registration of the prefix into the prefix pointer table. You will instantly be able to do <Alt-G> calls on any document named with a registered prefix.
• Automatically convert documents to the Word2007 XML (.docx) document format.
• Automatically convert Word2007 XML documents to 2000-2003 (.doc) format.

    The original tools previously announced are still present. They include:

• Quickly display the names of all terms in a selected folder or glossary.
• Sort tables by original name, new name, and subject.
• Rename the terms or documents to any other 'legal' document name.
• Rename the terms or documents to a 'prefix/suffix' style name to allow instant recall of the term via an <Alt-G> call.
• Add a 'subject' to a term (or change an existing subject assignment) so as to provide more guidance as to the term's purpose.
• The Editor table still remains a simple Word document. You can take the table home, play around with names and subjects there, and bring it back to the office to finish the renaming exercise.

    I am available to help you set up Pathagoras, establish your Pathagoras network, create or refine your books and libraries, etc.  Many of you who have bought the program have not yet implemented it, or at least not fully or to your satisfaction.

    My staff and I can help in the following regards:

• Got just a quick question or two? Call us. If the question is simple, we will answer it on the phone. If it requires a 'look-see' at your computer, we can set up a quick GoToMeeting session. We will never charge you for that kind of service. That's what we do!

• Let us Pathagorize Your Systems:    Send me one or more of your current systems and let us set up a Pathagorized model system in return. Here we will charge you, but we are reasonable in our fees, and your savings in future document assembly time will more than recapture the investment. I have staff that is chomping at the bits to help. Their rate is $40 per hour (minimum 2 hours). They will take your documents, break them into component parts (following your guidance), add variables and optional text blocks (using your guidance and applying their own common sense), etc. All of my staff are experienced legal secretaries. They are more likely than not familiar with the types of documents with which you work, and therefore will need little guidance from you.)
  
  What you will get back will be a complete, immediately usable, book. We will send you instructions on how to place it into a new or existing library. Since the return material will be a collection of standard Word documents, you will be able to augment or freshen the text on your own as needed.
  
  We suggest, if you want to take us up on this offer, that you send us just one of your systems, not all of them. When you get it back, study what we did and how we did it. Hopefully, then, you will feel so confident in how simple and easy it really it that you will attempt to 'Pathagorize' the next system yourself.

• Private Lessons: Some of you have told me that you are hesitant to call because you think you are taking advantage of me. "I should not expect free answers to my questions without my having first read the manuals" is what one caller said. Okay. I know where you are coming from. But I really don't mind (see "Just a quick question or two," above.) Nevertheless, if it really bothers you, I can make it work out for both of us. If you choose not to read the manuals (I hate reading manuals too), you can simply 'buy' me to provide some extended lessons and some 'on-site' (via GoToMeeting) guidance on how to get set up and fully operational. Put your whole office staff in front of a computer and a speaker phone and we will be all set. I am pretty cheap -- $65 per hour. And when you consider how far I can get in that time, that can be quite a deal for you.

And here is the best part about these Private Lessons. If I discover a bug in the program that prevents you from doing what you want, that full hour of time is free! (This should give you an incentive to call me on the project you have been working on but didn't complete because you thought you were doing something wrong. If the error was on my part, then I will fix it and I won't even charge you for the time! You can't beat that, can you?)

"Will you travel?" I have been asked. Heck yes!  I would love to! (Get me out of my law office, please.)  Of course, the airplane ticket and accommodations would be on you. My on-site charges are a bit higher (I would charge $1,000 per eight hour day) but the work that I could accomplish in that day or two (setup and training) may make the investment worthwhile.
