'SaveSmart' tips:
Move an Open Document: If you are displaying a document that doesn't belong in the folder
in which you found it, you can easily move it to another. The steps
are easy.
- Display the SaveSmart
screen by clicking the SaveSmart icon in the toolbar (the 'disk').
- Select a SmartPath from the list at the right of the
SaveSmart screen into which you wish to move the
open document.
- Click the Move button.
Pathagoras will place the document in the selected SmartPath
and delete the original document from its current location.
What if the target folder is not in your SmartPaths list? Pathagoras can
still save you time compared to moving it via Word. Simply select the
SmartPath that is 'nearest' to your target folder.
Then click
the
MoveAs button. Navigate to the target folder
and click 'Save.' (Of course, you may wish to create a new
SmartPath for the desired location, but you can do that later. Click
the 'Document Management' button in the table at the left to learn
more about creating
SmartPaths.)
Note: Moving an open document to a new
location cannot
otherwise be done in Word. A 'move' constitutes a 'copy' the original file to a new location and a
'delete' of
the original from
the old location. While you can do a 'SaveAs' from Word, you still
have to navigate back to the original file in order to delete it. Pathagoras accomplishes all steps with a single
mouse click.
